The Publishing Story: Thirteen Lessons in Christian Doctrine Youth Edition
College Press came to us to redo their book 13 Lessons in Christian Doctrine: Youth Edition by Denver Sizemore (adapted for youth from the adult version by John Hunter). This has been one of their top-selling books over the years, and they wanted to get a new cover and do new typesetting for a new look.

13 Lessons in Christian Doctrine: Youth Edition was republished October 12, 2023.
We enjoyed working on this book’s complex workbook interior. Our design team also enjoyed developing a cover design that aligned with the other books in this series, 13 Lessons in Christian Doctrine and 12 More Lessons in Christian Doctrine, which we are working with College Press to redo next.
We appreciate College Press’s Angela Blethen’s kind endorsement: “They have responded well to feedback as we work together to create an end product that we are happy with.”
More About the Book
From the back cover.
Kids and new Christians have some pretty big questions about their faith. They want—and deserve!—to know what they believe and why they believe it. Denver Sizemore’s classic study, 13 Lessons in Christian Doctrine has been used by colleges and adult Sunday School classes for many years. Now, the Youth Edition offers the same crucial teaching in a format ideally suited for kids and new Christians. Chapters include lessons on God, Jesus Christ, the Bible, the Church, Faith, Repentance, Baptism, the Lord’s Supper, Prayer, Giving, Giving in the New Testament, the Mission of the Church, and the Second Coming of the Lord.
Denver Sizemore (1920–2010) served as a professor of New Testament for forty-three years at Atlanta Christian College. He was a well-known preacher and teacher throughout the churches of the southeast United States. He spent his retirement years teaching at mission colleges around the world.
John Hunter graduated from Ozark Christian College in 1975 with Bachelor of Sacred Literature and Bachelor of Theology degrees. He received his MA (New Testament) from Cincinnati Bible Seminary in 1989.
