More About the Book

Astera Needs Saving, But Its Fate Lies In Unexpected Hands

Sixteen-year-old Anel has grown up hearing legends about magic. The most common characters in these legends are the Timekeepers, humans gifted with powers that enable them to guard the land of Astera from evil. Most people consider these legends to be fiction, but they take on a disturbing reality when a series of calamities attack Anel’s village. An unexplained sense of purpose compels Anel to take her father’s place on an expedition to the Heart of Astera, where the legends say the Timekeeper lives. The goal of the expedition is to find the Timekeeper and discover why he’s not protecting Astera as he should.

Lena Pickering began writing at a young age, and The Timekeeper’s Apprentice is her first published work. She lives in Tennessee with her family, a lizard, and two cats. Her interests include studying the Middle Ages, learning foreign languages, and traveling the world one day.
