The Publishing Story: Rhythms

The Publishing Story: Rhythms

Authors Daniel McCoy and Andrew Jit from Renew sought to expand upon the concepts of their previous collaboration, *Real Life Theology Handbook: A Step-by-Step Guide to Building Your Life on What’s True*. Their new endeavor, subtitled *How to Live out Real Life Theology*, aimed to provide a more practical approach.

Specific Services We Provided

Our assistance encompassed:

  • Copyediting
  • Proofreading
  • Cover design
  • Interior design
  • Typesetting
  • eBook creation

We closely collaborated with the authors to produce a visually stunning book that echoes the design elements — both cover and interior — of their first book, but with a distinct flair. The cover, in particular, turned out exceptionally well, striking a balance between uniqueness and message representation.

Rhythms: How to Live out Real Life Theology was published on 24 January 2024.

Daniel McCoy expressed his gratitude, stating, “As always, YouPublish was excellent to work with as they helped bring what we were envisioning to reality.”

More About the Book

From the back cover.

When does playing music go from formidable to fun? It starts getting fun when you feel the rhythm and join in. In the same way, the Christian life gets more doable when you take the time to learn its rhythms. Knowing what we ought to do only leaves us feeling guilty until we take time to learn the how tos. That’s the point of this book.

Rhythms walks you through thirteen rhythms of the Christian life, including:

  • How to learn and unlearn habits
  • How to pray
  • How to suffer well
  • How to live in community
  • How to forgive people
  • How to make a disciple
  • How to read the Bible

In Real Life Theology Handbook, McCoy and Jit showed that the basics of theology are understandable and worth building our lives on. In this follow-up to the Handbook, they show that the basic practices of the Christian life are doable and life-giving.

“If you desire to live a faithful life as a disciple of Jesus, this practical guide will help you build rhythm after rhythm into the fabric of your life so that you can be as fruitful and faithful as possible.”

Josh Howard, disciple making movement leader and Global Mobilization Catalyst for e3 Partners

“If you are looking for a resource for discipling believers of all ages, look no further.”

Ken Idleman, a grandfather who has “road-tested” the Real Life Theology material with the next generation

“The simple progression offered here breathes hope and depth into your walk with the Lord.”

Denise Beck, executive director, Velvet Ashes

“Rhythms is a tool in the hand of anyone who wants to help a seeker or new believer grow spiritually strong. Use it!”

Cam Huxford, lead pastor, Compassion Christian Church
