The Publishing Story: A Discipleship Journey Kids

Dave Buehring is the founder of Lionshare. He wanted help publishing a kids’ version of A Discipleship Journey. He contacted YouPublish to take their illustrations, cover, and illustrations and turn them into kids’ discipleship material.

We also helped Lionshare design and print 1,000 packs of 52 flashcards to go with the book.

Our project manager, together with our editorial and design team, worked closely with them to publish an engaging kids’ discipleship book.

A Discipleship Journey Kids was published August 11, 2022, and it’s now available to families who want an effective tool to aid in the deliberate discipling of their children to love, follow, and obey Jesus.

Join Adie and Jay in Their Adventures to Become Disciples of Jesus!

As families, we have the wonderful opportunity of deliberately discipling our kids in the ways of God! The Scriptures teach us in Deuteronomy 6:7:

You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise.

Discipling children impacts individuals, families, communities, and entire nations for generations to come! In A Discipleship Journey Kids (ADJK), disciple making leader Dave Buehring and a team of his friends provide families and churches with an effective tool to aid in the deliberate discipling of children (ages 6–10) to love, follow, and obey Jesus! 

In the accompanying animation series, kids join Adie and Jay on all kinds of adventures as they learn to live as disciples of Jesus. Amid their experiences, Adie and Jay teach kids more about God’s character, how to walk in His ways, and how to join Him on His world-changing mission!

Along with the ADJK manual and the animation series, parents and grandparents as well as local churches and children’s ministries can use the take-home cards, the parent prompts, and the facilitator’s guide to help the kids they are discipling practically apply the lessons to their daily lives.

ADJK is a companion to A Discipleship Journey, a resource that youth and adults around the world have used since 2004.
